Program Details
- Recognise and assess an emergency
- Ensure safety for self, bystanders, and casualty
- Seek assistance from emergency services
- Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines
- Provide first aid in accordance with established first aid principles
- Manage the casualty in a respectful manner
- Obtain consent from casualty where possible
- use available resources and equipment to make the casualty comfortable
- Operate first aid equipment according to manufacturers’ instructions
- Monitor condition of casualty and respond in accordance with first aid principles
- Accurately convey incident details to emergency services
- Report details of incidents in line with appropriate workplace or site procedures
- Complete applicable workplace or site documentation, and incident report form
- Maintain privacy and confidentiality of information
- Recognise the possible psychological impacts on self and others and seek help
- Contribute to a review of the first aid response as require
Course Duration
The Cert II HLTAID011 Provide first aid is broken into online and face to face learning. The pre-study is completed online and takes on average 1-2 hours and then followed by 1 day in class learning.

No entry requirements for this course.
What’s included?
All materials are included in the course fee including access into Core Training’s online learning platform. Core Training’s first aid course is a 1 day course at our Tuggeranong training centre. Online learning is required before completing the day.
Core Training’s modern training facility is also equipped with microwave, fridge for those who wish to pack lunch.
